![]() Just pick out the ones who seem to be decent and communicative and friend request them. Obviously our times won't always match up to que together, so you should find more friends by playing more games. I found that I win at least 80% of the games when I que compared to those I don't. We created a clan and now I have decent HoN buddies to play with who I know at least for the majority will try to communicate and isn't an all around crap player. For HoN, after about a year of playing I found people through some of the games I played that I que with now. For LoL, I always usually que with a friend, and there is usually 1 or 2 decent guys that will actually teamplay with you. Every moba game is going to have it, and the only way you can battle this is finding people to que with together. There is always going to be the feeder, the one who doesn't say anything throughout the game or participate well, or the one who cusses you out for doing "bad" when he's been doing crap all game, etc. ![]() I played my fair share of games for HoN, and I have also started playing LoL as well a couple weeks ago due to some friends. This is entirely subjective, but I feel like Dota 2's community in general is less awful than HoN's, and that reflects in the SA population as well. Occasionally you'll get some SA players who speak good English and also play the game correctly. But if you're trying to find a game that will save you from the South American invasion, it's probably not the right one.Įdit: I should also add, in my experience the South Americans in Dota 2 are not AS awful in terms of communication & skill as they are in HoN. I don't want to discourage you from trying Dota 2, it's a fucking amazing game. You'll see at least one Peruvian in every game, usually more (1-2 on each team I'd say on average) What's worse, the South American servers for Dota 2 are located in Brazil which is a Portuguese speaking nation, so the rest of the Spanish speaking nations of LA all flock to US East & West. You know how HoN used to have region locking? Dota 2 has never had region locking. rant over- off to try some DotA 2 I guess :(Įdit: 131370564 ![]() However, 75%+ of LA players I get matched with troll and/or afk when one thing doesn't go their way. I know this is stereotypical and there have been LA players that are polite and make an attempt at English when on US servers. On top of that, the MAJORITY of LA players flame A LOT and troll/ afk A LOT. It is VERY hard to coordinate with a language barrier. I consistently have 3+ team members that do not even try to speak English. After the LA players were allowed back onto US servers the game is no longer fun for me. I'm fine with that, I don't play HoN for rating, just for fun. I like playing mid heroes which helps, but I sit around 1500 solo queuing 95% of my games. Sure every once in a while in a while you get dumbasses on your team that troll, but for the most part, I deal with it. I also have, for the most part, liked/ been tolerant of solo TMM queue. Game mechanics are awesome, its smooth, fast paced, balanced. I honestly believe that it is hands down the BEST MOBA out there. I love Heroes of Newerth been playing it for FOREVER. This is going to be your standard "I'm quitting HoN" post, but I have to vent.
